Come as One, takes inspiration from the Maya Angelous quote “I Come As One but Stand and 10,000” whereas Angelou references carrying the baton her parents and those before her held before receiving it herself.

This work showcases a child ready to receive the baton from Angelou and carry on being the the hopes and dreams of their ancestors.

This work is from my #FrancisInResidency series created late last year in New York City.
